Practicing gratitude can be a game changer, as it can improve your mental wellbeing as well as boost your relationships with others. Building your capacity for gratitude is not difficult, it just takes practice.
Notice the amount of thank yous you say. Is it a habitual response or an afterthought? When your instinct to say “thank you” kicks in, stop for a moment and take note. Can you name what you feel grateful for even beyond the gesture that’s being extended? One of the most powerful ways to rewire your brain for more joy and less stress is to focus on gratitude. Accept The Bad To be grateful in your current state it is helpful to remember and accept the hard times that you have experienced. When you remember the obstacles you have endured and how you have overcome them you set up an explicit contrast in your mind. This contrast is the ground for gratefulness. Use Your Senses Through our senses we gain an appreciation of what it means to be human and remember what an incredible miracle it is to be alive. Seen through the lens of gratitude, the human body is a gift. Gratitude Journal Establish a daily routine of writing down the things/people you are grateful for. This practice may seem daunting at first, so try and start with three people/things. This will get you in the mindset of feeling grateful for the people and things around you. Practicing gratitude will allow you to live your life with less stress and more excitement. Gratitude allows you to see all the beautiful things around you and be appreciative for all you have. Try practicing gratitude daily and see the improvement it can make on your mindset and your relationships.
