Exercising can sometimes feel intimidating especially if you do not know where to start. But, working out doesn’t have to be restricted to only weight rooms. You can work out anywhere at any time. If you need inspiration for your next work out, here’s a challenging but enjoyable list of exercise activities for you to try out.
Hiking Hiking can be whatever you want! A super steep and rocky climb or a mellow flat trail. The important thing is that you’re outside, enjoying nature, and moving your body. You can find different hiking trails in your area so you can switch it up and be challenged every time. Kayaking Even on a calm lake, kayaking is a great workout. You’ll engage your core, your arms, and your legs as you propel yourself through the water. This is also another activity where you can enjoy nature which also benefits your physical and mental health. Ride a Bike Pedal at a leisurely pace for as long as you feel like riding or challenge yourself with a few uphill climbs. If riding a bike outside doesn’t work for you, consider trying out an indoor cycling class. This is a fun workout that can be challenging! If one unique workout doesn’t inspire you, you can always move onto the next. There is no one-size-fits all approach on how to make exercise fun, so if at first you don’t succeed just try again! Our mental health needs looking after, just like our physical health. Set Goals for the Winter Months The winter months can make you feel less motivated because of the shorter days and cold weather. So, before you feel your motivation slips, set goals that you want to accomplish in the winter. Maybe there’s a new workout class or a new hobby you want to try. Write down these goals so when you feel your motivation slipping away you can use these new goals to refresh. Prioritize Self-Care In today’s culture, we feel the need to be productive every single day. This is not realistic.
