As you move along in life it is easy to focus on the result rather than the process of how to get there. To succeed at anything, focusing on the process is far more beneficial than focusing on the outcome itself. As you move along in life it is easy to focus on the result rather than the process of how to get there. To succeed at anything, focusing on the process is far more beneficial than focusing on the outcome itself. When you concentrate on the outcome you are more likely to feel pressure and lose your motivation, which is why it is more valuable to be process-oriented than outcome-oriented.
As people, we are always striving to be better or achieve something new, and we believe that we need to see results to be on a path to success. These thoughts can be overwhelming since they focus on uncontrollable aspects of life, like what others think of us and outcomes of situations. People that focus on the process end up gaining more in life because we can fully control our own process. Managing Mistakes Mistakes occur all the time, and they help us learn and grow in life. However, some people are scared to take risks because they are scared they will fail. Realistically though, risks result in new opportunities to learn and grow. Satisfaction Process-oriented people are thrilled to be in the present and enjoy it. They are more engaged in their opportunities in the moment and gain more experience as a result. Fewer Distractions There is an immense amount of pressure when it comes to delivering results. Society pressures us to always be achieving something new, but when you concentrate on the process you immediately eliminate the noise of external factors. This is because you can refocus on what is controllable- you. In the end, you can’t control the outcome, but you CAN control the process of how you get there. Don’t be afraid to take risks and say yes to every opportunity, no matter how scary, because you will gain valuable experience and knowledge despite the outcome.
